Team India’s T20 World Cup 2024 winning captain Rohit Sharma’s retirement from the shortest format of cricket, increased the expectations that the all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who served as the vice-captain in that tournament would take up the role.
However, an unexpected twist occurred when the national selectors recently announced India’s 15-member T20I and ODI squad for the upcoming white ball series against Sri Lanka. As predicted, Rohit Sharma is set to lead the ODI squad which consists of several key players such as , Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul with Riyan Parag set to make his debut in the 50-over format.
