Top 10 Youngest Cricketers Who Debuted In T20I Cricket as a Teenager

Top 10 Youngest Cricketers

Over the years, T20 Internationals (T20Is) have become one of the best formats for the youngest cricketers to debut for their national teams at a very young age.

Recently, the 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was expected to mark his debut against Ireland on Friday (June 26). However, the young prodigy is likely to wait longer than expected to secure his place in India’s playing XI. Even if he plays his first match, he will be the 11th youngest T20I debutant and not the youngest.

Let’s take a look at the top 10 youngest cricketers who made their T20I debut, out of which four of them debuted at the age of 14, while the remaining six in the list at 15.

1. Marian Gherasim (ROMANIA): 14 Years and 16 Days

As of June 2026, the Romanian cricketer Marian Gherasim leads the chart as the youngest T20I debutant. The right-arm pacer played his first T20I match against Bulgaria. At that time, he was just 14 years and 16 days old when he played the Balkan Cup 2020.

Despite Romania’s 33-run loss to Bulgaria, Marian accomplished a rare feat that no other young cricketers have surpassed so far.

2. Alkinoos Manatos (GREECE): 14 Years 207 Days

Unlike other nations, Greece is not a popular country in the cricketing world, but Alkinoos Manatos rose to fame as the second youngest T20I debutant.

At the age of 14 years and 207 days, Alkinoos played his first and only T20I appearance against Serbia in June 2021. Although Greece secured a 5-wicket win against Serbia, Manatos didn’t get an opportunity to bat.

3. Meet Bhavsar (KUWAIT): 14 Years 211 Days

Kuwait’s top order batsman, Meet Bhavsar, ranks third in the list as the third youngest cricketer ever to make a T20I debut.

In the ACC Western Region T20 tournament in 2019, the Kuwait wicketkeeper batsman marked his debut against the Maldives. Bhavsar, as the middle-order batsman at that time, didn’t get an opportunity to bat as Kuwait pulled off a tremendous 8-wicket win after they conveniently chased down a 103-run target.

4. George Sesay (SIERRA LEONE): 14 Years 311 Days

George Sesay is the youngest cricketer from Sierra Leone, as well as one of the top 10 youngest players to make their T20I debut.

At the age of 14 years and 311 days, Sesay played his first T20I match against Nigeria, where his team secured a 6-wicket win in the last-ball thriller. However, the pace bowling all-rounder would regret not getting an opportunity either to bat or bowl in his debut game.

5. Oscar Duff (BULGARIA): 15 Years 64 Days

The Bulgarian pace bowler Oscar Duff ranks fifth in the list of the youngest cricketers to make a T20I debut.

It has been almost two years since Duff played his first T20I match against Guernsey at the age of 15 years and 64 days. Although he was unfortunate to face a run-out dismissal after scoring 3 runs off his first delivery, he bagged two wickets (2/17 in 1.4 overs) at an economy of 10.20.

6. Raymond Coker (SIERRA LEONE): 15 Years 73 Days

Yet another cricketer from Sierra Leone to make a T20I debut at a young age is Raymond Coker. Two years back, in August 2024, Coker debuted against Guernsey at the age of 15 years and 73 days.

The tailender scored 1 run off 4 balls, but as an off-spinner, he remained wicketless (0/8 in 1 over). Sierra Leone lost the match by 9 wickets and 45 balls remaining.

7. Aleksa Lazic (SERBIA): 15 Years 73 Days

Aleksa Lazic is the only cricketer from Serbia to rank among the top 10 youngest cricketers who made their T20I debut. One year back (on June 07, 2025), the right-handed batsman debuted against Slovenia when he was 15 years and 73 days old. So far, he has played only 7 T20Is and scored 3 runs out of 2 innings played.

8. Alusine Turay (SIERRA LEONE): 15 Years 74 Days

Sierra Leone’s all-rounder Alusine Turay ranks eighth in the list among the youngest T20I debutants. He played his first T20I match against Cameroon on December 02, 2022, when he was 15 years and 74 days old. Turay scored 33 runs off 20 balls (including 7 fours) and bagged 2 wickets (4/24 in 4 overs).

9. Suhail Vayani (MALAWI): 15 Years 89 Days

Malawi’s right-arm off-spinner Suhail Vayani made his T20I debut in 2023 against Eswatini when he was 15 years and 89 days old. In the Southern Africa Cup, his 2-fer (2/23 in 4 overs) turned out to be one of the core contributions for his team’s 53-run win against Eswatini.

10. Tenjin Rabgey (BHUTAN): 15 Years 92 Days

Bhutan cricketer Tenjin Rabgey ranks 10th in the list among the youngest cricketers as he made his T20I debut against the Maldives at the age of 15 years and 92 days. On July 04, 2022, he failed to create an impact with the bat, having scored only 6 runs off 11 balls as an opener.

Bhutan triumphed over Maldives by 6 runs, and Rabgey became the youngest batsman to represent the Asian team in the 20-over format.
