The T20 Mumbai 2025 has started off on a thrilling note with SoBo Mumbai Falcons’s super over victory in the season opener against ARCS Andheri on June 04 (Wednesday). This 20-over league isn’t just a domestic tournament. Rather, the inclusion of star cricketers such as Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shardul Thakur take charge of the captaincy role.
On the other hand, the young talents Musheer Khan and Angkrish Raghuvanshi aiming to establish their mark in the ongoing tournament.
Also, the third season of the league has commenced a day after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS).
Two different venues across Mumbai— Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai and Wankhede Stadium will host 23 matches of the tournament. However, Wankhede is set to host the grand finale on June 12 (Thursday).
The T20 Mumbai 2025 promises to entertain fans with high-voltage contests where the IPL’s sensational performer, and Mumbai’s rising talents get an opportunity to face off against the international stars.

Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals
Along with Siddesh Lad and Arman Jaffar, Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals captain, Tushar Deshpande is one among those notable names in the squad.
Currently, Deshpande is part of India A squad for England tour this month. Currently, Siddesh is appointed as the stand in captain, whose presence along with Jaffar is expected throughout the tournament.
Eagle Thane Strikers
Earlier, Shardul Thakur was named as the captain of Eagle Thane Strikers. However, the chance has been ruled out following his selection in the Indian national team for the forthcoming 5-match test series in England, starting on June 20.
Thakur’s experience will be certainly missed. But the former India’s Under-19 left-arm spinner Atharva Ankolekar, who can lead the team in Shardul’s absence as well as make noteworthy contributions with the bat.
Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs

Tanush Kotain as the Panthers key off-spinner is expected to join the squad soon as he is currently in England as part of India A set-up. In addition, the contributions from the reliable pacer Mohit Avasthi will further add fuel to the pace bowling attack.
SoBo Mumbai Falcons
With Shreyas Iyer as captain, SoBo Mumbai Falcons can expect a blockbuster campaign. Having recently led Punjab Kings to the IPL 2025 final, Iyer is expected to join the franchise soon. Under his absence the Kolkata Knight Riders star batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi serves as the stand-in-captain of the Falcons.
It’s noteworthy to mention that Angkrish has been upgrading his batting skills to a higher level in every IPL season.
ARCS Andheri
In addition to the Mumbai Indians former batsman Akhil Herwadkar, ARCS have two batting all-rounders such as Shivam Dube and Musheer Khan. The duo is fresh from their IPL experience in the recently concluded season. Also, Hewadkar’s experience would be an added advantage.
However, Andheri lost a super over contest to Mumbai in the season opener under Dube’s captaincy and is expected to bounce back in the upcoming matches.

After a disappointing campaign in IPL 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Ajinkya Rahane was supposed to lead the Bandra Blasters in the ongoing T20 Mumbai 2025. However, the right-handed batter opted himself out of the tournament, although the exact reason hasn’t been revealed so far.
The team’s head coach Umesh Patwal clarified that the wicketkeeper-batsman Akash Anand will serve the captaincy role in Rahane’s absence.
Excluding Rahane, the team doesn’t have many popular names. As a result, it’s time for the Suved Parkar, to prove his worth who rose to fame with his double century on Ranji Debut. Also, the left-arm pacer Atif Attarwala will be keen to make use of this opportunity to establish his mark in the 20-over format.
Triumph Knights Mumbai North East
Team India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav takes the charge to lead Triumph Knights Mumbai North East. At present, the batting stalwart of Mumbai Indians (MI) is hailed as the world’s best T20 batters.
Triumph Knights lost their campaign opener to Eagle Thane Strikers by 5 wickets. But, SKY’s unbeaten 27-ball-fifty (including 8 fours and 1 six) at a strike rate of 185.19 has become the talk of the town.
Parikshit Valsangkar,who was part of MI’s extended squad in IPL 2025 didn’t get an opportunity to play with Suryakumar in the recently concluded tournament. Still, he is fortunate enough to play for Triumph Knights this season under SKY’s captaincy.
