The 62nd edition of the Duleep Trophy from August to September 2025 commenced on August 28 (Thursday) and returned to the zonal format. All the matches will be played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground (CEG) in Bengaluru, with the final scheduled to take place between September 11 and September 15

There were four teams, such as India A, B, C, and D, in the previous season of the Duleep Trophy. Following the criticism by the public interest groups, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reverted to the traditional format comprising six zonal teams.

Also, with Indian cricket board has mandated the star cricketers to take part in the domestic circuit when they are free from international duty. This helps to reshape the selection process.

The following are the six zonal teams that are participating in the Duleep Trophy 2025:

Format of Duleep Trophy 2025-26

Following the knockout format, the 62nd season of the Duleep Trophy 2025-26 will feature two quarterfinals. The North Zone is currently competing against the East Zone. Likewise, the Central Zone is also contending against the Northeast Zone in the quarterfinals.

The winners of the quarter-finals will face off against the South Zone and the West Zone in the semi-finals. Overall, the winner of the semi-finals will compete in the title clash starting on September 11.
